Cooking with Himalayan Salt Plates

If you have a salt block or plate and you are wondering what ways you can use it, then you would be glad to know that it can be used for multiple reasons. The main purpose of a Himalayan salt made block or plate in your kitchen would be to cook using it and additionally, it can be used to serve the food on that as well. It is a delicate, flavorful, and a healthier way to cook/serve food using a salt made plate or block. Cooking with the salt made plates is interesting and effective for good health. It also doesn’t require any special skill to cook using it.

Heat the plate slowly
First of all, you should know that you can use either an electric grill or a gas range to cook your favorite recipe on a Himalayan salt plate. The first step towards a successful recipe using a salt made block is to start heating the block slowly because if you heat it strongly, then there is a chance that the salt block will break and the cooking process will be stopped at the spot. So, be careful and heat your salt block slowly. Another reason why you should heat it slowly is that if you heat it quickly, then the recipe will get saltier and the taste of the meal will be affected.
You should start the cooking process right when the temperature of your salt block reaches to 500 F. This is the ideal temperature to start cooking your favorite stuff on it. You can use the oven plate handlers to change the directions of your food. Like, if you are cooking steak on it, then you should change the directions of it according to its position. Keep on cooking until you feel that the meal is ready and after that, do not touch the salt block and bring down the meal carefully.
Cleaning the salt blocks
When the meal is ready, now you will be looking to clean your salt blocks from the food that will be sticking to it. Do not try to wash the plates abruptly. The salt block will need some time to cool down to the normal temperature. In fact, a lot of time! So, you should not hurry up and you must wait for it to cool down completely. Sometimes, it can even take a day to cool down the salt block to the room temperature.

After the temperature of the salt block is down to the room temperature, now you can wash the salt block with tap water. You can rinse off the salt block with the help of water to clean the salt block from the food sticking to the plate. After washing it with the water, you can dry it with any soft cloth to dry it completely. You should repeat the process again if there is still any food sticking to it and place it in a secure place.
